Sewing Club

During this term in Sewing Club, Junior 3 pupils have been hard at work making various Christmas decorations from felt, to hang on their Christmas trees at home. Some of the decorations that they have made included Christmas stockings, Christmas trees decorated with buttons for baubles, bells and a gingerbread person. The children have enjoyed learning how to perfect their running stitch, the over stitch as well as how to sew on buttons.

Well done to everyone your decorations are amazing.

Please remember to sign up for Sewing Club next term!

Lego Club

Did you know that Lego bricks were actually discussed at the COP28 summit in Dubai this week?! Why? Because a few years ago Lego committed to making its bricks not directly from oil, but from old plastic bottles. Lego did this but, ironically, the process took more energy to turn these recycled bottles into bricks than it did to take oil and turn it into bricks. Answers on a postcard please!

We all know that a small brick can make a big difference and in Lego Club this week, we grabbed our bricks and built our own Christmas stars. From small stars, big stars, wonderfully weird stars – every size and shape of a star -  it was just awesome. We also created our own Lego certificates and finished off with a festive Advent calendar raffle surprise, with the winner of the Lego Sleigh competition being given the opportunity to open the Christmas Eve window!  Happy building and Happy Christmas Lego everyone!
