Monday's Mission Assembly

Mrs Horan led the school's Mission Assembly, which was based on World Mission Day, to be celebrated on Sunday 22 October. We were reminded of the ethos of our school and how we can create a school family where we grow together to become better people. Pupils were asked what they thought a Mission was. Answers ranged from being able to accomplish something in order to help people, to being given a special task to undertake.

The Bible message from the disciples of John and Matthew proclaimed us to love one another and to go out and make disciples of all nations. Mrs Horan explained that World Mission Sunday will be a chance to show love to other people throughout the world. Closer to home, we could make a difference ourselves by showing respect to each other, smiling and being kind which, in turn, would spread God's love to encourage others to do the same.

Junior 2 Learn About The Timeline Of Jesus

Junior 2 have been getting to grips with the passage of time in Jesus' life, taking care to talk about His family on earth along the way.  They understood that Jesus had a family with His mother, Mary, and earth Father, Joseph, and they then created a timeline of Jesus' life, beginning from the Annunciation, Nativity, Flight to Egypt, Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, Baptism, the call of the Disciples, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We discussed Mary's thoughts in each scenario and how she cared for her Son.

Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)
Some people tried to trick Jesus, but he was too clever for them. We think about how we can make sure everyone has the fair share of all that God has given us.
