Headmaster's Message

Headmaster's Welcome

Dear Parents

As Mr Duigan is currently in South Africa, I have the honour of sending a message to you this week.

During the week we hosted a GTX workshop involving St Joseph’s Catholic School, Telford Junior School and St Nicholas Primary School.  The participants enjoyed the workshop which was also attended by some of our Junior 6 pupils.  Mrs Spillane helped co-ordinate this event and reported that our first GTX workshop was a worthwhile and successful morning.  Many thanks to her for this.

A mixed bag in a sporting fixtures this week, but what was particularly pleasing was that in the last two weeks, we have been able to put C teams out, meaning even more children have had the opportunity to represent Crackley Hall.  I know the boys have got an awful lot out of this experience.

I know that our sports teams are looking forward to next week when they take part in the ISA cross country and hockey events.  I am sure some of you will be going along to support and this is always much appreciated from the sidelines.  Remember to wrap up warmly.

Stars of the Week were awarded to Francesca, Charlie, Harrison, Amy, Ria, Alex, Jack, Harry, Oliver, Louisa and Harry.  The RE Book of the Week certificate was presented to Amy.  Well done to all of you on your hard work and achievements.

Yesterday, Junior 3 and Junior 4 visited the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford to participate in a theatre workshop and then watch David Walliams’ heart warming comedy, The Boy in the Dress.  The workshop provided an insight into the production and creative process of the musical.  During the afternoon, the children enjoyed the main show and this was followed by a post-show discussion. This was a very informative and hugely entertaining day enjoyed by the staff and children.  Thank you to Mrs Olden for organising the visit.  I am sure that the children will remember this day when Crackley Hall starts preparing for the summer production.

Parent consultation evening will be held on 26 and 27 February and the booking system for appointments will hopefully be available to parents next week via My School Portal.  Please keep a look out for emails regarding this next week.

We said goodbye to Mrs Katie in Nursery on Wednesday.  Whilst Miss Katie will be missed by the children and parents, we look forward to welcoming Miss Emily, who joins us from Princethorpe College, on Monday morning.

Key Stage 1 children will be performing for their families on Wednesday next week and, judging by the rehearsals, I am sure you will be very impressed by their stage talents.  May I ask you to park considerately when arriving for this event in order to ensure that car line and the residents are not hindered.  The School Field will also be open for parking to ease congestion.  Please use the Gables entrance when attending this event.

Mr Duigan has been in contact with me this week to keep in touch and our thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult and sad time.  I hope you and your family have a restful weekend.

God bless,

Mr Cottrill
