Junior 6 Enjoy Annual Bake Off

Junior 6 have been enjoying their post examination curriculum enrichment week with a whole host of exciting activities to reward all their hard work. Yesterday morning's challenge was the annual Junior 6 'bake off' competition. Always a creative and sometimes a sticky affair!

Congratulations to this year's winners and to those who received highly commended (or highly calorific) awards and to all the children who took part so enthusiastically.

Well done to 1st Seb R, Finley and Jamie, 2nd Seb B and 3rd Josh, Fergus and Ted.

Congratulations to everyone who took part!

Junior 6 Enrich Their Science Studies With Dissection

During Activities Week Junior 6 enjoyed enriching their Science learning with a little dissection. In groups they examined hearts and whilst there was some initial revulsion, that was rapidly replaced with fascination as the children got hands on exploring the ventricles and valves. It was really interesting for them to see the organs in real life after studying them in their lessons and they were able to link their theoretical studies to the reality of how the organs work. It was a great reinforcement for their learning. They were all so engaged. Well done, Junior 6.

Christmas Tree Festival At St Nicholas

The 14th annual St Nicholas Christmas Tree Festival took place last weekend and Crackley Hall once again entered a tree, with this year's theme on sustainability, a topic close to our school's heart. Children sent in their homemade decorations and Head of RE, Mrs Forino, took the tree over on Thursday last week. There were a whole array of designs, from simple to elaborate, traditional and creative.

We hope you had the chance to go and visit and enjoy all the trees. All proceeds from this years’ festival will be given to Flourish - a Christian based charity who support girls aged 11 – 18 years, nurturing self-esteem and mental wellbeing within Warwickshire.

Crackley's Carols Entertain At Kenilworth's Light Switch On

Crackley Hall's Choir and Choral Group came together last Friday evening to deliver a marvellous medley of magical Christmas carols and seasonal favourites to help celebrate Kenilworth Old Town's Lights switch on.

Happily, the weather stayed dry, and the children galloped through their set list to the crowd's obvious pleasure. A polished performance and rousing finish was capped by the traditional countdown.

Said a delighted Mrs Olden, “It was so good to see pupils and families enjoying the music and this is always such a great way to start the Christmas preparations.”

A big thank you to Mrs Olden and her team for creating such a heart-warming start to advent.
