Harvest Mass

Father Kevin visited the school on Tuesday to celebrate mass and the harvesting of food around the world. Led by Junior 5S, we were asked to think about the people who are involved in planting, harvesting, and preparing the food we eat and the importance of sharing our love and kindness with everyone. Fr Kevin talked about a selection of vegetables he had brought in and compared the eyes of a potato, the heart of a cabbage, the ears of wheat and the hands of a banana to how we should look at our world with a good heart, listening to those around us and helping each other with our hands.  We were also reminded that it was the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on the 4 October.

Monday Mission Assembly

Mr Duigan led the Monday Mission Assembly and talked about Saint Therese of Lisieux and how little acts of kindness can make a huge difference to others. Saint Therese wanted us to do little things with love and that we shouldn't think we are more important than anyone else. Mr Duigan explained that Saint Therese believed  that God does not look so much on the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them. Saint Therese showed us all how we can change the world with kindness - with kind hands, kind hearts and a kind mouth. What can we do this week to demonstrate our kindness to others?

Children's Liturgy

Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)
Jesus talks about a man who has real trouble with the people who are looking after his vineyard. We reflect on how we can care for the earth, which God has given us to look after.
