Monday Assembly
During Monday's Mission Assembly, Mrs Glen-Roots opened the assembly and reminded the school that May was a month dedicated to Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
Mrs Glen-Roots began to talk about Trust and linked this to the School Ethos of 'Following the teaching and example of Jesus.' Jesus said He was the Good Shepherd and we, the people, are His sheep. Mrs Glen-Roots asked the school what Jesus meant by this? Eager hands were raised high with replies that Jesus was a "guardian and if we got lost, then Jesus would call us back." Another compared the Good Shepherd to, "Jesus opening the gate and inviting us into follow Him, and then closing it back to look after us." Sometimes we can get tangled up with life and feel afraid and alone and the pupils were asked to think about a time when this could have happened to them. Answers ranged from, "getting lost in a shop," to "falling out of a kayak and struggling to breath." If we know and believe that Jesus is looking after us, this would make us feel safe and secure. Through prayer and being still, we can feel the presence of Jesus. Like a torch shining throughout the world, or a treasure box full of love when we lift the lid, Jesus will always be there for us all if we listen to His calling. How can we listen to Jesus this week?
