Choral Speaking Group Come First At Nuneaton Festival Of Arts

Junior 5 Choral Speaking group were a bundle of excitement and nerves on their way to the Nuneaton Festival of Arts on Tuesday afternoon. Competing in this highly competitive festival is an annual tradition at which Crackley Hall groups often excel at, so we knew we had to be at our very best. The children calmly got into their positions on stage in front of the adjudicator and performed Pandora’s Box by Paul Perro and Refugees by Brian Bilston, beautifully. The adjudicator critiqued their performances at Commended and Distinction levels respectively, which landed the group a first position and the coveted Meredith Cup for Choral Speaking!  He commented on their strong focus, control, and energy which, together with their style and skill, engaged the audience emotionally and passionately. We are so proud of their commitment to this lunchtime club for which they were richly rewarded. A fantastic achievement!

100% Pass Rate In Latest LAMDA Exams

The results are in! Junior 5 and 6 achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate in their recent Speaking Verse and Prose LAMDA examinations, with most children achieving the highest categories of Merit or Distinction. The children had been busy learning poems and prose ready to present to the examiner who visited us in March. The months of hard work really paid off and all the children were able to perform their pieces with confidence, clarity of diction, good volume and engaging vocal and facial expression. These crucial skills will go on to serve them well as they progress through their years at school and beyond. Public speaking is an even more essential skill than ever in today’s workplace, and we actively teach the Communication LAMDA curriculum to all of our children at Crackley Hall to prepare them for life ahead. Well done Junior 5 and 6 – we are so proud of you.

Stay 'n' Play Forest Fun

It was wonderful to welcome everyone to Stay ‘n’ Play’s Forest Fun on Wednesday 4 May. Despite the drizzle, the children all had lots of fun while their adults sheltered underneath the big trees. The session took place in the Crackley Hall’s wood at the back of the school and was led by Mrs Clark, the school’s Forest School Practitioner. The children had a choice of a hands-on activity planting sunflower seeds, as well as plenty of free play, in the woods, in the mud kitchen, on the hammocks, the rope swings and even on an old saddle. It was great to have everyone back at school and we hope our Stay 'n' Players enjoyed the fun!

Crackley Hall Art Show

The Crackley Hall whole-school Art Show is only a couple of weeks away. Please make a note in your diaries for Wednesday 18 May. You will be sent an invitation with time slots in the next week or two!

The show will take place in the School Hall from 3.00pm to 6.00pm and all work on display is for sale. Children from Nursery through to Junior 6 have created works of art of a high standard which has all been beautifully framed.

Payment is by cash, cheque or card on the day.

Additional copies may be ordered on the day itself only, so if you wish to gift a picture from your child to another family member or friend you can do so.

All monies raised will be shared between the school's charities and the Art department.

We can’t wait for you to see how hard the children have been working!

With thanks to all those who teach art and the children who make it a joy to teach.

Summer Show Name Competition - Reminder

As many of you are aware, preparations for the Summer Show are underway. The children are invited to come up with a name for the show.

The two shows we are performing songs from are: The Lion King and Aladdin.

The name can be anything. We have previously had Magical Moments Of Musicals, A Spoonful Of Naughty and Our 4ever Musical Favourites. All suggestions are welcome and one will be selected and used.

Entries need to be in by Monday 16 May and given into the Office on a named piece of paper. The Performing Arts Team along with Mr Duigan will then select a winner.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with. Good Luck!

Bee Art Competition - Reminder

Please find more details of an Art Competition in the flyer or follow the link.

Items For Art Project

Ms Holmes is collecting nails (the larger the better), screws, nuts and bolts, drill bits etc for an art project.

If you have any spares and could donate to the Art department, that would be fantastic.

Thank you.
