Yiyang Pan (J2M) has been awarded RE Book of the Week for linking the KS1 Mass on the theme of Mary with his work in class. Yiyang drew attention to the fact that Mary’s time at the temple, where she was preparing and praying a lot, helped her in her later life of being the Mother of Jesus.
Pupils from Junior 4,5 and 6 joined Father Kevin and Father David in a Reconciliation Service at St Austin’s to help them prepare spiritually during the season of Advent. Thank you to all those pupils who participated, Father Kevin commented on how well behaved and reverent they were.

Advent has begun and pupils throughout the school have been learning the significance of the wreath and the different coloured candles. In Monday’s assembly, led by Mrs Glen-Roots, Harry Surtees lit the purple candle of Hope. During the week pupils have thought about the ways they can prepare themselves for Christmas by doing acts of kindness for other people.
