Important Information

RSHE Lessons

This week, parents of children from Nursery to Year 6 will have recieved an email advising that after the Christmas holiday, we will begin our programme of RSHE. Lessons will be taught by the Form Teacher and aim to build on the work covered in RSHE lessons last year.

As you may know, Relationships Education and Health Education is now statutory in all primary schools in England. As a Catholic school, our mission is to support the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all of our pupils. In primary schools the focus is on teaching the fundamental building blocks and characteristics of positive relationships, with particular reference to friendships, family relationships, relationships with other children and with adults. These include the topics of families and the people who care for me, caring friendships, respectful relationships, online relationships and being safe.

Two years ago, Crackley Hall decided to adopt 'Life to the Full' by Ten Ten Resources, an award-winning Catholic educational organisation that is well-respected and very experienced in this field of work. The scheme has been developed to ensure that it is sensitive to the different needs of individual pupils in respect to pupils’ different abilities, levels of maturity and personal circumstances.

We understand the foundational role that parents have in educating and nurturing their children and within the programme, we have built in resources which will not only keep you informed about what is being taught in school but will also give you the opportunity to engage your children in discussion and activity. Class teachers will send a list of topics that will be covered, and we encourage parents to discuss the issues and contact form teachers with any follow up information where necessary.

Ten Ten provide an Online Parent Portal which will be a tool we can use throughout the year to keep you informed and updated about the work covered in each year group to help you support your child. You can find it here: www.tentenresources.co.uk/parent-portal

The email sent directly to parents earlier this week, provides log in details to access the Ten Ten Online Parent Portal.

Please email Mrs Faye Burley: fayeburley@crackleyhall.co.uk if you have any queries or problems accessing the parent portal.
