Crackley Hall School Raises £5,000 For Mary’s Meals

Crackley Hall School was delighted to present a cheque for £5,000 to the charity Mary’s Meals. The cheque was presented to Corina O’Brien, Supporter Engagement Officer, from Mary’s Meals in assembly on Monday 25 April, the first day back of the Trinity term.

The money was raised back in March when pupils from the school took part in a charity skipathon. Organised by the school’s Minnie Vinnies club, the junior arm of the charity St Vincent de Paul, and Mini Vinnies’ Co-ordinator, Mrs Dolores Simmonds, pupils had enthusiastically hopped, skipped and jumped backwards and forwards across the school hall.

In the assembly, Corina O’Brien spoke to the children about the work of Mary’s Meals who now provide a daily meal in a place of education to over 2 million children across the world. She shared how it takes just £15.90 to feed a child for a year and how the children’s donations would provide a whopping 62,500 meals. Corina said, “A huge thank you to all the children and their sponsors. We know there are children across the world who need our help and that when they go to school and have a meal then they gain both an education and a brighter future.”

The cheque was presented by Rob Duigan, Headmaster and pupils Lily, Marley and Nirvair.

Mr Duigan said, “Well done to all the skippers who took part and a big thank you to those who generously donated to the skipathon. We had a lot of fun and laughter on the day, and I am really proud of all the children for raising such a fantastic total.”

Summer Show Name Competition

As many of you are aware, preparations for the Summer Show are underway. The children are invited to come up with a name for the show.

The two shows we are performing songs from are: The Lion King and Aladdin.

The name can be anything. We have previously had Magical Moments Of Musicals, A Spoonful Of Naughty and Our 4ever Musical Favourites. All suggestions are welcome and one will be selected and used.

Entries need to be in by Monday 16 May and given into the Office on a named piece of paper. The Performing Arts Team along with Mr Duigan will then select a winner.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with. Good Luck!

Junior 6 Receive Their Leavers' Hoodies

Junior 6 received their hoodies and caps yesterday ahead of their residential trip next week and they were all quick to put them on. They looked amazing, so we took a quick photo of them to share.

The children are all excited about their upcoming trip to the beautiful Aberdovey in North Wales and were asking lots of questions; we know they are really going to enjoy themselves!

Leavers’ hoodies are now a tradition for most schools, and we know that their hoodies will always be a tangible memory of their time at Crackley Hall and their fellow pupils. They provide a sense of belonging and of community and in the long distant future we hope they will prompt wonderful memories of their school days.
