Virtual Learning at Crackley!

In the last few weeks our children have begun an exciting virtual learning journey, thanks to the PTA and funding our fabulous new Virtual Reality Headsets.

Children have been flying over islands, trekking through forests and swimming at the bottom of the oceans all as a part of their lessons this week. Across the school children have been starting to use the headsets to explore and enhance their lessons. We really can’t wait to see where we can go!

We are very grateful to the PTA for their support!

Thinking To Think Club

This term, Junior 6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in a new after school club ‘Thinking to Think’, designed and created by Assistant Head, Tanya Hill.

The club fosters the ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and ask questions, using and exploring the 4C - Philosophy for Children framework and approach.

In the first two sessions the children have explored communication methods, made word links and connections and tried to retrieve treasure by crossing a treacherous river (with only three stones to stand on!). Problem solving and collaboration at the fore!

The children have all given the activity a big thumbs up!

Calling All Super Heroes: Reception to Junior 6

On Tuesday 5 November we will be having our very first Super Hero Day, as part of our Vocations Week. Please come to school dressed as a Super Hero.

The aim of the day is to think about how we can all be super heroes and come to people's rescue by doing super acts of kindness for them.

More details to follow.

Foundation News: Countdown To Princethorpe College Entrance Exams Begins

With a little over eight weeks to go, the countdown to Princethorpe's Entrance Exams for admission in September 2020 has begun. This year the exams for Year 7 to 10 entry will take place on Saturday 9 November from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

The College's friendly Admissions Team has been kept busy over the summer accepting registrations from prospective parents.  The deadline for registrations is ideally Friday 4 October, to enable the seeking of references from junior schools. Junior 6 parents wishing their children to sit the Princethorpe entrance exam must complete a registration form and submit it with the accompanying registration fee by this date.

There are still opportunities for prospective pupils and their parents to visit the College before the Entrance Exams, including the College's Open Morning on Thursday 26 September from 10.30am to 12.30pm, when pupil tour guides will be available to show visitors around the school.

Comments Melanie Butler, Assistant Head, Marketing, Admissions and Communications, "Parents and pupils still have time to register and one final opportunity to visit the College before the entrance exams.  We post the results out at the end of November, making for an exam-free Christmas holiday, which has got to be good news."

More information on the admissions process can be found in Princethorpe's Admissions Update newsletter here or on the Foundation website here.

If you have any queries relating to admissions please feel free to email the Registrars at admissions@princethorpe.co.uk or call them on 01926 634201.
